Moving from Expectation to Hope.
Expectation is born from the desire to control the future.
It feeds on deadlines, outcomes, and certainties.
When we create expectations, we imagine how things ought to happen, and we often make them the measure of our happiness.
The problem is that expectation depends on what is not entirely in our hands.
Therefore, when unfulfilled, it generates frustration, anxiety, and despondency.
Hope, on the other hand, is deeper and more resilient.
It does not ignore difficulties nor deny reality, but chooses to trust, even when the path is uncertain.
While expectation says "it will happen the way I want", hope says "even if it does not happen as I imagined, there is still meaning, learning, and possibility".
Moving from expectation to hope is a shift in inner maturity.
It is learning to relinquish control without losing faith, to accept that not everything will go as planned, but can still be good, transformative, and necessary.
Hope does not rely on guarantees.
It is sustained by the trust that life can surprise us in ways that go beyond what we can foresee.
When we let go of rigid expectations and cultivate hope, we make room for peace.
We continue to dream, but without imprisoning ourselves to specific outcomes.
Thus, even in the face of setbacks, we remain standing, because hope is not found in what happens, but in how we choose to move forward.
